DRAWING

Drawing is an expression of idea on a two dimensional surface through the use of line. Without line, there can be no drawing. It is the quickest and simplest means of expression in art. Drawing is a language of communication but not a spoken one. It is also a foundation for other forms of art, it could be carried out through either study or imagination. VALUES OF LEARNING DRAWING. i. It helps to develop our sense of observation. ii. It develops sense of imagination or memory. Iii. It assists other subjects like geography, science, intro tech, biology and other areas where drawing of diagrams and other forms of illustrations are required. Iv. It helps students to appreciate the significance of diagram, maps, and other illustration in the texbooks. V. It could be used to describe the appearance of objects or figures. DEVELOPING DRAWING SKILLS. I. Constant practice Ii. Observation and interpretation of forms Iii. Sketchings basic proportion and shape before details. Iv. Relating objects to each other in terms of size in a composition. V. Making good use of space available for drawing. Vi. Developing free emotion but strong determination during drawing process. Vii. Experimenting the use of various media for drawing. Viii. Following the rudiments of drawing.
